Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) Emergency Housing

The Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) provides individualized support and case management to UCLA students experiencing an unexpected financial crisis. Available assistance may include emergency housing, emergency meal support, emergency short-term loans, emergency and basic needs grants, and referrals to campus resources.

Students can begin by completing the online self-assessment form. Requests are reviewed in partnership with the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. Response times may vary due to high demand. Visit the ECRT website for current eligibility requirements, application forms, and available services.

We aim to efficiently, compassionately and discreetly:

  1. Provide a seamless and individualized response to UCLA students in extraordinary financial crisis.
  2. Develop proposals for actions to examine (and revise, when appropriate) university policies and office protocols in order to improve students' ability to manage their financial situations and avoid economic crisis.

Bruin Shelter is a student-run nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting college students experiencing housing insecurity. Although it does not currently operate a physical shelter, the organization provides care packages, grocery support, resource referrals, and connections to housing assistance. Students seeking emergency housing support can contact Bruin Shelter through its website or Instagram for referrals to available community resources.

Description: The department to contact for on-campus and off-campus housing. They assist students with stay-overs, moving in and out of housing information, dining payments, and housing options.
