Hello Bruins! My name is Vanessa Diaz, and I am one of the Social Media and Marketing Financial Wellness Peer Coaches. I am from North Hollywood, CA, and I am a transfer, commuter, and first-generation student. I transferred from Los Angeles Valley College in the Fall of 2021, and I am majoring in Sociology with a double minor in Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement and Social Change.
I am the oldest child in my family with a brother in high school and a sister in elementary school. I aspire to be a commercial and residential real estate investor, as well as an entrepreneur. I am passionate about building generational wealth and providing both financial, career, and educational resources to others. My life transformed the moment I began to believe in myself and gave every opportunity a chance, and now I encourage others to do the same.
A fun fact about me is that I enjoy watching TikTok and Youtube on my free time, as well as going out and exploring new places. I look forward to being able to travel the world in the future! I joined the Financial Wellness Program because I recognize the importance of learning how to not only manage your money, but to maintain a a healthy relationship with it. Our finances can be large stressors in our life and I want to be able to help others maneuver through this.
